Sandra Cisneros has held various job titles besides award-winning author. Cisneros has been a teacher, school counselor, college recruiter, creative writer to various age groups, and many other different jobs. She grew up in Chicago and attended university in both Chicago and the state of Iowa. Her first publication, a book of poetry titled Bad Boys, published in 1980 started her career as an author.
